CHILDREN'S HOME CARE OF DAYTON ("CHCOD") IS A WHOLLY OWNED SUBSIDIARY OF DAYTON CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL. IT OFFERS NURSING CARE, DURABLE MEDICAL EQUIPMENT, HOME INFUSION THERAPY, REHAB, AND BEREAVEMENT SERVICES TO CHILDREN WITHOUT REGARD TO THEIR ABILITY TO PAY. IN FY ENDING 06/30/21, CHCOD HAD 5,622 VISITS. OF THESE VISITS, 72% WERE MEDICAID AND LESS THAN 1% WERE SELF-PAY. CHCOD IS COMMITTED TO SERVING AS AN ADVOCATE FOR CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES. THE HOMECARE PROCESS ALLOWS MANY CHILDREN TO BE DISCHARGED FROM THE HOSPITAL AND RETURN HOME TO A MORE "HOMEY" ENVIRONMENT WHICH PROMOTES THE HEALING PROCESS.
