STUDENT LEGAL SERVICES, INC. PROVIDED EDUCATION TO BOWLING GREEN STATE UNIVERSITY STUDENTS REGARDING THEIR LEGAL RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES. THIS WAS ACCOMPLISHED BY PUBLIC SPEAKING EVENTS, WEB-SITE EDUCATION AND OTHER WORKSHOPS. THE RANGE OF TOPICS INCLUDED LANDLORD/TENANT ISSUES, ALCOHOL AND SEXUAL VIOLATIONS. A SURVEY FOUND 90 OF OUR CLIENTS WERE EXPERIENCING STRESS RELATING TO THEIR LEGAL ISSUES WHILE 75 FOUND THE LEGAL ISSUES DISTRACTING TO THEIR STUDIES. ONE-ON-ONE COUNSELING WAS GIVEN TO 745 STUDENTS AND 418 COURT APPEARANCES WERE MADE ON THEIR BEHALF EASING THE STRESS LOAD OF THE IMPACTED STUDENTS.
