AN INTERFAITH ORGANIZATION THAT SUPPORTS AND EMPOWERS OLDER ADULTS TO MAINTAIN INDEPENDENT LIVING.

TIN THE SCHC GUARDIANSHIP PROGRAM THE ORGANIZATION SERVES AS THE COURT-APPOINTED LEGAL GUARDIAN OF INCAPACITED ADULTS IN HAMILTON COUNTY AND PROVIDES ASSISTANCE TO THOSE ADULTS THROUGH TRAINED VOLUNTEER ADVOCATES. THIS PROGRAM PROMOTES THE DIGINITY OF A PERSON WHO NO LONGER HAS THE CAPACITY TO MAKE MAJOR LIFE DECISIONS BY HELPING THEM FIND THE LEAST-RESTRICTIVE ASSISTANCE THAT ALSO PRIORITIZES THEIR BEST INTEREST, SAFETY AND SELF DETERMINATION. IT ALSO PROVIDES SUPPORT TO VOLUNTEER ADVOCATES.


IN CONJUNCTION WITH COMMUNITY CARING AND TOGETHER TODAY, REACHING RESOURCES IS HELPING FURTHER OUR MISSION TO PROMOTE AND SUPPORT INDEPENDENT LIFESTYLES FOR SENIORS IN HAMILTON COUNTY. REACHING RESOURCES ASSISTS OLDER ADULTS IN CONNECTING WITH ALL RESOURCES RELATING TO AGING IN PLACE. THE PROGRAM'S GOALS ARE TO IMPROVE QUALITY OF LIFE, PREVENT ISOLATION, AND MAINTAIN INDEPENDENCE.


THE COMMUNITY CARING PROGRAM MATCHES VOLUNTEERS WITH HOME BOUND AND ISPOLATED SENIORS 55+ TO PROVIDE FREE SERVICES SUCHA AS HOUSE CLEANING, LIGHT HOME MAINTENANCE, TRANSPORTATION, FRIENDLY VISITATION AND YARD WORK.


THE TOGETHER TODAY PROGRAM PROVIDES AN EXCELLENT OPPORTUNITY FOR SENIORS TO GET TOGETHER ON A REGULAR BASIS, MAKE NEW FRIENDS, AND HAVE A WONDERFUL TIME SOCIALIZING TOGETHER. AN IMPORTANT SIDE BENEFIT IS THAT THE PARTICIPANTS DEVELOP A VERY CARING ATTITUDE TOWARD EACH OTHER AND LOOK OUT FOR EACH OTHER'S WELFARE.THE SCHC COUNSELING PROGRAM IS A HOLISTIC APPROACH THAT POSITIVELY IMPACTS THE WELL-BEING OF HAMILTON COUNTY'S SENIORS AND HELPS ENSURE A GREAT QUALITY OF LIFE AS THEY AGE. RESEARCH STUDIES SHOW THAT PROLONGED ISOLATION OF INDIVIDUALS LEAD TO DEPRESSION AND ANXIETY WHICH INCREASES EXPOTENTIALLY AS PEOPLE ENTER INTO THE SENIOR AGE GROUP. AN SCHC THERAPIST WORKS WITH CLIENTS TO CREATE A TREATMENT PLAN AND GOALS WHICH REMAIN IN PLACE UNTIL A LONG-TERM PROVIDER IS IDENTIFIED OR GOALS ARE MET.
