THE KENTUCKY PHARMACISTS EDUCATION & RESEARCH FOUNDATION'S MOST SIGNIFICANT ACTIVITY IS TO PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL ACCREDIDATION AND CONTINUING EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES FOR KENTUCKY PHARMACISTS TO MEET THEIR ANNUAL CE LICENSE REQUIREMENTS WHICH ARE MANDATED BY THE COMMONWEALTH OF KENTUCKY.

THE FOUNDATION INSTITUTES, SPONSORS, ESTABLISHES, FOSTERS, AND PROMOTES, THROUGH THE USE OF ITS ASSETS AND INCOME, EDUCATION PROGRAMS AND RESEARCH PROJECTS IN THE FIELD OF PHARMACY, INCLUDING CAREER COUNSELING AND STUDENT ASSISTANCE, CONTINUING AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND PUBLIC HEALTH EDUCATION AND ASSISTANCE.
A GRANT WAS OBTAINED TO DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT A CENTRALIZED NALOZONE DISTRIBUTION PROGRAM IN PARTNERSHIP WITH COMMUNITY PHARMACIES AND UTILIZING THE MOBILE PHARMACY TO DISPENSE NALOZONE ATOMIZERS TO COMBAT OPIOID DEATHS IN KENTUCKY. AS A COMPANION TO THIS PROGRAM, THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH INSTITUTED A CRISIS II PROGRAM TO ASSIST IN THE TRAINING AND DISTRIBUTION OF NALOZONE.
THE CENTER FOR EXCELLENCE WILL BE USED TO ENHANCE AND EXPAND THE PHARMACY PROFESSION.
