SUPPORT THE COLLEGE OF OSTEOPATHIC MEDICINE'S EDUCATION AND TEACHING, PATIENT CARE AND COMMUNITY SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES. UNIVERSITY MEDICAL ASSOCIATES, INC. (UMA) WAS ESTABLISHED IN 2003, AS THE FACULTY PRACTICE PLAN FOR THE OHIO UNIVERSITY HERITAGE COLLEGE OF OSTEOPATHIC MEDICINE (OU-HCOM). ALL UMA PHYSICIANS ARE ACTIVE FACULTY MEMBERS AT OU-HCOM.UMA'S MISSION IS TO DELIVER HEALTH CARE SERVICES TO THE RESIDENTS OF SOUTHEASTERN OHIO WHILE PROVIDING CLINICAL TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES FOR FUTURE OSTEOPATHIC PHYSICIANS. UMA MEDICAL OFFICES SERVE AS THE PRIMARY CLINICAL TEACHING SITES FOR FIRST AND SECOND YEAR MEDICAL STUDENTS AS WELL AS TRAINING SITES FOR MANY ALLIED HEALTH PROFESSIONALS, SUCH AS NURSE PRACTITIONERS AND MEDICAL ASSISTANTS.OUR PRACTICE INCLUDES SPECIALISTS IN FAMILY MEDICINE, PEDIATRICS, INTERNAL MEDICINE, DIABETES, ENDOCRINOLOGY, OSTEOPATHIC MANIPULATIVE MEDICINE, PATHOLOGY, GERIATRICS, URGENT CARE, ACUPUNCTURE, STUDENT HEALTH, SPORTS MEDICINE AND WOMEN'S HEALTH.
