AAPA PROVIDES COMPREHENSIVE PROFESSIONAL SUPPORT FOR PATHOLOGISTS' ASSISTANTS THROUGH EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES INCLUDING OUR QUARTERLY PEER-REVIEWED JOURNAL, THE CUTTING EDGE, DISTRIBUTED TO ALL MEMBERS IN PRINT OR ELECTRONIC FORM, AND REGULAR E-BLASTS WHERE OUR MEMBERS HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO EARN CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS FOR THEIR CERTIFICATION MAINTENANCE.AAPA OFFERS THREE ANNUAL MEETINGS TO EARN ADDITIONAL CONTINUING EDUCATION, INCLUDING A FALL CONFERENCE (APPROX. 270 ATTENDEES), SPRING MEETING (APPROX. 125 ATTENDEES) AND OUR INAUGURAL SUMMER MEETING (APPROX. 50 ATTENDEES). DUE TO COVID-19, THE CONFERENCE WAS A HYBRED CONFERENCE AND THE TWO MEETINGS WERE VIRTUAL MEETINGS. WE ALSO OFFER RECORDINGS OF THE CONFERENCE LECTURES AND HAVE PUBLISHED BEYOND THE BENCH, A SERIES OF CE ARTICLES, FOR OUR MEMBERS TO ACCRUE CREDITS.THE AAPA IS AN APPROVED PROVIDER OF CONTINUING EDUCATION PROGRAMS IN THE CLINICAL LABORATORY SCIENCES THROUGH THE ASCLS PACE PROGRAM (APPROX. 18,000 CE CREDITS ISSUED ANNUALLY).BEYOND CE, THE AAPA PROVIDES PROFESSIONAL SUPPORT BY TRACKING OUR MEMBERS' CE UNITS, ADMINISTERING SURVEYS, MONITORING LEGISLATION, OFFERING A CERTIFICATION EXAM STUDY COURSE, OFFERING AN INSPECTION READINESS KIT, AND FACILITATING NETWORKING OF OUR MEMBERS.WE WORK TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC AND MEDICAL COMMUNITY CONCERNING THE ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PATHOLOGISTS' ASSISTANT THROUGH OUR TRAVELING EXHIBIT BOOTH (5 TIMES ANNUALLY) AND ANNUAL PA DAY (APRIL 14), AS WELL AS MAINTENANCE OF OUR WEBSITE AND PROMOTION OF OUR JOB HOTLINE (APPROX. 150 ADS ANNUALLY).
