THE VFW SPONSORS A HIGH SCHOOL SPEECH CONTEST "VOICE OF DEMOCRACY", THE PARTICIPANTS RECEIVE PLAQUES AND AWARD MONEY. IT ALSO SPONSORS A MIDDLE SCHOOL CONTEST "PATRIOT'S PEN ESSAY", THE PARTICIPANTS RECEIVE PLAQUES AND AWARD MONEY. THE DISTRICT HOLDS A COMPETITION AND DINNER FOR THE POST'S ENTRIES WITH AWARDS. THE DISTRICT SUPPORTS THE LOCAL POST WITH INSTRUCTION, CLASSES AND FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE WHEN NEEDED. THE DISTRICT MAKES DONATIONS TO SEVERAL VETERANS CAUSES.
