IRR CONTINUED OUR RIVER RESTORATION WORK BY PARTNERING WITH THE IOWA DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES TO HOST 3 WEEK LONG RIVER RESTORATION TOOLBOX TRAINING WORKSHOPS. WE CONTINUED SUPPORTING THE COUNTY LEVEL WORK FOR THE MASTER RIVERS STEWARDS PROGRAM AND HOSTED ONE RIVER CLEAN UP AT FOUR MILE CREEK IN DES MOINES, IA. IRR AWARDED THE CITY OF GUTTENBERG THE "RIVER TOWN OF THE YEAR" AWARD.
ADVOCACY: HOSTED AND INVITED LEGISLATORS TO RIVER TOWN OF THE YEAR AWARD CEREMONY AND HOSTED A POPCORN LOBBY DAY AT THE STATE CAPITAL. WE ADVOCATED FOR IOWA LEGISLATORS TO APPROPRIATE FUNDS FOR LOW HEAD DAM MITIGATION AND THE WATER TRAILS PROGRAM, THROUGH THE REBUILD IOWA INFRASTRUCTURE FUND (RIFF).
