TWO DAY ANNUAL MEETING AND TRADE SHOW FOR PEANUT GROWERS TO RECEIVE THE LATEST RESEARCH, AGRONOMIC PRACTICES AND MARKETING INFORMATION. INDUSTRY, UNIVERSITY AND USDA RESEARCHERS, AND THE NATIONAL PEANUT BOARD PROVIDED THE EDUCATIONAL INFORMATION. APPROXIMATELY 150 ATTENDED, THE ATTENDEES WERE GROWERS, UNIVERSITY EDUCATORS, CROP CONSULTANTS, AND PEANUT INDUSTRY STAFF. A SECOND PROGRAM EVENT WAS PEANUT DAY AT THE BASEBALL GAME ALONG WITH THE NATIONAL PEANUT BOARD. OVER 12,000 FANS GOT TO SEE PEANUT FACTS ON THE JUMBOTRON, HEAR A GROWER TELL ABOUT HIS PEANUT FARM, AND GET FREE PEANUT PRODUCTS TO SAMPLE ALONG WITH NUTRITION LITERATURE. THE ASSOCIATION CONTINUED TO SUPPORT THE COMPLIMENTARY PEANUT BAGS AND INFORMATION SHEET TO STATE VISITOR CENTERS FOR TRAVELERS. NEARLY 10,000 VISITORS HAVE RECEIVED PEANUT INFORMATION GIVEN TO THEM IN 2021 REPORTING POSITIVE RESPONSES ON FACTS SHARED FOR PEANUTS. THE CENTERS ARE ON THE INTERSTATE HIGHWAYS COMING INTO THE STATE.
