ONE STOP OPERATIONS: USING FEDERAL GRANT FUNDS FROM THE WORKFORCE INNOVATION AND OPPORTUNITY ACT (WIOA) OF 2014 (WHICH REPLACED THE PREVIOUS WORKFORCE INVESTMENT ACT OF 1998), THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES OVERSIGHT FOR OHIO MEANS JOBS (OMJ), THE ONE-STOP CENTER EXISTS TO HELP LOCAL JOB SEEKERS OBTAIN NECESSARY SKILLS TO SECURE EMPLOYMENT AND ASSIST LOCAL BUSINESSES IN FINDING EMPLOYEES WITH THE SKILL SET THEY NEED. THE AREA RECEIVED A STANDARD FEDERAL ALLOCATION BASED ON STATE OF OHIO ALLOCATION POLICY AND SERVED 3,265 INDIVIDUALS THROUGH THE OMJ CENTER AND ITS NETWORK OF PARTNERS. THESE OUTCOMES ALSO INCLUDE 304 INDIVIDUALS PROVIDED WITH GRANT FUNDS FOR IN-DEMAND CAREER TRAINING PROGRAMS. RESULTS ALSO INCLUDE 80% OF ADULTS/DISLOCATED WORKERS OBTAINING EMPLOYMENT AND 314 EMPLOYERS SERVED.
YOUTH: THIS PROGRAM USES FUNDS IN A STATEWIDE, INTEGRATED PROGRAM CALLED, COMPREHENSIVE CASE MANAGEMENT AND EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM (CCMEP). CCMEP LEVERAGES TRANSITIONAL ASSISTANCE FOR NEEDY FAMILIES (TANF) AND WIOA FUNDING TO SERVE 14-24 YEAR OLD YOUTH WITH COMPREHENSIVE EMPLOYMENT, EDUCATION, AND TRANING SERVICES, TO IMPROVE THEIR WORK READINESS AND COLLEGE READINESS CAPABILITIES, AS WELL AS PROVIDING TREATMENT AND CASE MANAGEMENT FOR A VARIETY OF IMPEDIMENTS TO THEIR WORKFORCE SUCCESS. SERVICES ARE PROVIDED BY THREE ORGANIZATIONS - TWO FOR OUT-OF-SCHOOL YOUTH AND ONE FOR IN-SCHOOL YOUTH. COMBINED, THESE TANF AND WIOA PROGRAMS SERVICED OVER 1,700 YOUTH/YOUNG ADULTS WITH 975 OBTAINING EMPLOYMENT.
ADULT/SPECIAL GRANTS/ADMINISTRATION/DISLOCATED WORKERS/EMPLOYER SERVICES: IN THIS FISCAL YEAR, THE ORGANIZATION ADMINISTERED SPECIAL GRANTS FOR SEVERAL EFFORTS, INCLUDING THE NATIONAL EMERGENCY GRANT (NEG)/NATIONAL DISLOCATED WORKER (NDW) GRANT, PROVIDED IN RESPONSE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. ADDITIONALLY, THE ORGANIZATION ASSISTED WITH APPLYING WITH OTHER ENTITIES AND/OR PROVIDING LETTERS OF SUPPORT, TO BRING ADDITIONAL RESOURCES INTO THE CINCINNATI/HAMILTON COUNTY SERVICE AREA FOR PUBLIC HOUSING RESIDENTS AND OTHERS, AS WELL AS SERVING THOSE AFFECTED BY OPIOID ADDICTION.
