RUBY'S PANTRY:THE ORGANIZATION RUNS A FOOD DISTRIBUTION PROGRAM THAT DISTRIBUTES DONATED CORPORATE SURPLUS FOOD THROUGH OVER 80 CHURCH-SPONSORED DISTRIBUTION SITES IN MINNESOTA AND WISCONSIN. IN 2021, THERE WERE 199,887 FAMILIES SERVED IN THESE DISTRIBUTIONS; 21,212,662 POUNDS OF FOOD RECEIVED FROM DONORS. AS IS OUR PRACTICE, $400,000 WAS DONATED TO SPONSORING CHURCHES TO BE USED FOR BENEVOLENCE AND OTHER EXPENSES.
RUBY'S SECOND HAND:THE ORGANIZATION OPERATES A THRIFT STORE IN SIREN, WI THAT PROVIDES DONATED CLOTHING AND OTHER ITEMS AT LOW PRICES. IT ALSO HAS A PROGRAM WHERE TEACHERS FROM THE LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICT THAT THE ORGANIZATION SERVES CAN SEND HOME A LIST FOR STUDENTS IN NEED OF CLOTHING, AND RUBY'S SECOND HAND WILL FILL THE ORDER WITHOUT COST. A SECOND THRIFT STORE IN ELK RIVER, MN WAS ALSO OPERATED UNTIL AUGUST 2021 WHEN IT WAS CLOSED.
RUBY'S LUCK:HOUSED IN A 40,000 SQUARE-FOOT, FORMER-NURSING HOME, THE CENTER IS BEING RENOVATED FOR A FREE MEDICAL CENTER AND CONFERENCE CENTER. IT SERVES POLK AND BURNETT COUNTIES IN WISCONSIN, WHICH ARE VERY UNDERSERVED AND SURROUNDED IN POVERTY.
