Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

BLESSING HOUSE IS A NON-DENOMINATIONAL FAITH-BASED AGENCY THAT CARES FOR CHILDREN NEWBORN THROUGH AGE 12 WHEN THEIR FAMILY IS HAVING A CRISIS AND THE CHILDREN NEED A SAFE PLACE TO STAY. PARENTS VOLUNTARILY BRING THEIR CHILDREN TO BLESSING HOUSE AND WE PROVIDE A SAFE HOME FOR CHILDREN. WE ENCOURAGE PARENTS TO ASK FOR HELP SO THAT CHILDREN ARE NOT PUT AT RISK. WE ALSO PROVIDE PARENTS WITH SUPPORT TO ADDRESS THEIR SITUATION. DURING THE LAST YEAR, 110 CHILDREN RECEIVED RESIDENTIAL CARE AT BLESSING HOUSE. 159 INDIVIDUALS RECEIVED EMERGENCY OR BASIC NEED SERVICE OUTSIDE OF RESIDENTIAL CARE. 116 FAMILIES WERE ASSISTED WITH RESIDENTIAL CARE, IN-KIND SUPPORT OR REFERRAL INFORMATION. OUR FAMILIES WERE DEALING WITH HOMELESSESS, HOUSING ISSUES, MENTAL AND PHYSICAL HEALTH ISSUES, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND LEGAL ISSUES. WE WORK IN PARTNERSHIP WITH OTHER AGENCIES AND PROGRAMS TO PROVIDE SUPPORT TO FAMILIES WHO HAVE CHILDREN AT RISK OF ABUSE OR NEGLECT. OUR EFFORTS FOCUSED ON FAMILY SUPPORT BOTH ONSITE AND IN HOME DURING COVID-19 AS FAMILIES STRUGGLED WITH BASIC NEEDS, HEALTH ISSUES, ISOLATION ACADEMIC CHALLENGES AND LACK OF SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC RESOURCES.
