IN YOUR HANDS DBA PALO ALTO PREPARATORY SCHOOL IS A UNIQUE, PRIVATE, COLLEGE PREP HIGH SCHOOL DESIGNED TO CULTIVATE STUDENT SUCCESS. SMALL CLASS SIZES, EXPERIENTIAL EDUCATION AND EMOTIONAL/PHYSICAL SAFETY, SHAPE THE SCHOOL. AS NEEDED, THE NECESSARY RESOURCES TO SUPPORT THE LD STUDENT COMMUNITY ARE INCORPORATED INTO THE CURRICULUM IN ORDER TO FOSTER THE GROWTH OF WELL-ROUNDED INDIVIDUALS. WITH A 100% HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION RATE, REPORTS HAVE SHOWN THAT PALO ALTO PREPARATORY HAS ACHIEVED A 93% COLLEGE GRADUATION RATE ONCE STUDENTS GRADUATE FROM PALO ALTO PREP. OUR CURRENT SENIORS, CLASS OF 2021, ARE ATTENDING THE FOLLOWING COLLEGES: MILLS COLLEGE, OREGON STATE UNIVERSITY, SAN FRANCISCO STATE, DIXIE UNIVERSITY, CAL STATE SONOMA, UNIVERSITY OF DENVER, CAL POLY SAN LUIS OBISPO, AND ST MARYS COLLEGE.THIS YEAR THE SCHOOL OPENED CLASSES, IN SCHOOL, WITH DISTANCING FOR COVID CONCERNS. THE SCHOOL DEVELOPED OUTDOOR ELECTIVE CLASSES AS WELL AS SPECIAL EVENTS SOCIALLY DISTANCED SO EVEN DUE TO COVID RESTRICTIONS, STUDENTS WERE ABLE TO ENGAGE IN ACTIVITIES TOGETHER WHILE FOLLOWING ALL HEALTH AND SAFETY GUIDELINES. IN ADDITION WE WERE ABLE TO RESUME OVERNIGHT EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING EXPERIENCES TAKING A GROUP OF STUDENTS TO SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA TO VISIT COLLEGES, ANOTHER GROUP TO PINNACLES NATIONAL PARK, CAMPING, CLIMBING AND HIKING AND ANOTHER GROUP TO GRANTS PASS OREGON, FOR RIVER RAFTING, AND JET BOATING.WE ADDED A CERTIFIED PART TIME COLLEGE COUNSELOR MEETING WITH OUR JUNIORS AND SENIORS. WE ADDED A MATH INTERN AS WELL AS BEGAN A TWO YEAR PROGRAM FOR OUR VICE PRINCIPAL TO WORK TOWARDS A MASTERS IN SPECIAL EDUCATION GIVING US A TOTAL OF FOUR SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHERS. WE PROMOTED OUR VICE PRINCIPAL TO DIRECTOR AND PROMOTED OUR OFFICE MANAGER TO VICE PRINCIPAL BOTH OF WHICH HAVE YEARS OF SERVICE AND CARRY THE VISION OF THE SCHOOL FORWARD.IN ADDITION WE IMPLEMENTED OUR FIRST SOCIAL MEDIA ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN ON FB AND INSTAGRAM TO FAVORABLE RESULTS, AS WELL AS CREATED A CAMPAIGN TO REACH ADVOCATES AND COUNSELLLORS TO MAKE THEM MORE AWARE OF THE STUDENTS WE SERVE
