CHRIST IN THE CITY PROVIDES A CHARITABLE SERVICE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SOCIAL TEACHINGS OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH.

CHRIST IN THE CITY IS A HOLISTIC SERVICE PROGRAM THAT INTEGRATES CHARITABLE WORKS WITH CATHOLIC SPIRITUALITY AND EDUCATIONAL ADVANCEMENT. COLLEGE AGE CATHOLICS SERVE AS MISSIONARIES IN KEEPING WITH THE TEACHINGS OF JESUS CHRIST AND THE MAGISTERIUM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH. THE PROGRAMS INCLUDE:YEAR OF SERVICE PROGRAM: THIS PROGRAM IS FOR COLLEGE-AGED CATHOLICS WHO BECOME MISSIONARIES BY COMMITTING ONE YEAR OF THEIR LIVES TO SERVE THE POOR AND THE CHRONICALLY HOMELESS. DURING THIS YEAR, THE MISSIONARIES LIVE IN COMMUNITY AND RECEIVE TRAINING AND SUPPORT FOR THEIR MISSION. THEY ALSO PARTAKE IN SPIRITUAL, INTELLECTUAL, HUMAN, AND CHARITABLE FORMATION. THE MISSIONARIES GO OUT TO THE STREETS TO SERVE THE HOMELESS ON A DAILY BASIS. THIS PROGRAM INSTILLS A FORMATIVE PLATFORM, GROUNDED IN VIRTUES AND LEADERSHIP, TO HELP LAUNCH THEIR CAREERS IN THE FUTURE.SUMMER OF SERVICE: SIMILAR TO THE YEAR OF SERVICE, THIS IS A LEADERSHIP PROGRAM THAT OFFERS A 3-WEEK COMMITMENT TO COLLEGE-AGED CATHOLICS FROM AROUND THE USA. THE SUMMER OF SERVICE GIVES THEM AN OPPORTUNITY TO GIVE THEMSELVES FULLY TO THE SERVICE OF THE POOR WHILE RECEIVING SPIRITUAL AND FORMATIONAL EXPERIENCES THAT EQUIP THEM TO BETTER SERVE THE COMMON GOOD IN THEIR RESPECTIVE UNIVERSITIES AND CITIES.OTHER RELATED PROGRAM ACTIVITIES INCLUDE ALTERNATIVE BREAK AND THE REGIS PARTNERSHIP.
