COMMUNITY - GLS WORKS CLOSELY IN THE COMMUNITY TO HELP PROVIDE ACCESS TO PROGRAMMING. COMMUNITY PROGRAMMING TARGETS RESIDENTS OF ALL AGES AND HELPS TO BRING NEW RESOURCES TO THE LINCOLN STREET ART PARK.
CURBSIDE RECYCLING PROGRAM: RECYCLING WORKSHOPS: GLS HOSTS RECYCLING WORKSHOPS AT BLOCK CLUB AND COMMUNITY GROUP MEETINGS TO TRAIN DETROIT RESIDENTS LIVING IN SINGLE FAMILY HOMES OR MULTI-FAMILY HOMES NO MORE THAN 4 UNITS HOW TO RECYCLE THROUGH THE CITY CURBSIDE RECYCLING PROGRAM.
YOUTH PROGRAM: GLS HOSTS AN ANNUAL EARTH DAY CELEBRATION INVITING 3RD GRADERS FROM DPSCD TO JOIN US FOR FUN ACTIVITIES FOCUSED ON THE 3 RS (REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE). GLS HAS ALSO WRITTEN A CHILDREN'S BOOK AND HAD IT PUBLISHED TO PROVIDE TO ALL THE STUDENTS WE WORK WITH.
