NATIONAL EXAMINATION PROGRAM: THE NASCLA ACCREDITED EXAM IS USED BY STATE LICENSING AGENCIES TO TEST CONTRACTOR CANDIDATES APPLYING FOR A GENERAL CONTRACTOR LICENSE. THE EXAM WAS DESIGNED TO REDUCE REDUNDANT LICENSING REQUIREMENTS AND ASSIST CONTRACTORS WANTING TO BE LICENSED IN MULTIPLE JURISDICTIONS. NASCLA RELEASED THREE NEW ACCREDITED EXAMINATIONS THAT WILL BE NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED FOR AN ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR (MASTER ELECTRICIAN/UNLIMITED ELECTRICIAN), A JOURNEYMAN ELECTRICIAN, AND A RESIDENTIAL ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR LICENSING TRADE EXAMINATION. ONCE A CANDIDATE PASSES ONE OF THESE EXAMINATION FOR THEIR LEVEL OF EXPERTISE, HE/SHE WILL NOT BE REQUIRED TO PASS ANOTHER COMPARABLE EXAMINATION IN ANY OF THE STATES THAT ADOPT THE EXAMINATION.
