RE:NEW PROJECT WAS CREATED TO PROVIDE COMMUNITY, EMPLOYMENT, AND JOB TRAINING TO REFUGEE WOMEN RESETTLED IN THE CHICAGOLAND AREA. THE ORGANIZATION OFFERS FREE SEWING AND ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE CLASSES TO REFUGEE WOMEN. WHEN POSSIBLE, GRADUATES OF THESE CLASSES ARE HIRED TO WORK IN THE RE:NEW PROJECT SEWING STUDIO. THE HANDCRAFTED PRODUCTS SEWN IN STUDIO ARE SOLD TO SUPPORT THE ORGANIZATION'S MISSION. DURING 2020, THE ORGANIZATION ALSO MADE OVER 7,000 CENTERS FOR DISEASE CONTROL-COMPLIANT FACE MASKS THAT WERE DONATED TO ESSENTIAL AND FIRST RESPONDER ORGANIZATIONS.
