THROUGHOUT OUR TARGET AREA (THE HIMALAYAS) KS HAS BUILT NUMEROUS SCHOOLS ANNUALLY SERVING POOR CHILDREN MAINLY IN REMOTE AREAS WHERE THERE WAS NO ACCESS TO EDUCATION. WE PAY SPECIAL ATTENTION TO THE EDUCATION OF WOMEN AND GIRLS. WE HAVE BUILT AND OPERATE TWO LARGE CLINICS FOR THE POOR (IN INDIA AND NEPAL) THAT HAVE VIGOROUS OUTREACH PROGRAMS THAT BRING MEDICAL CARE AND SOCIAL SERVICES TO THE MOST NEEDY AT NO COST OR ON A SLIDING SCALE. WE BRING SOLAR LIGHTING AND RAINWATER HARVESTING TO REMOTE AND POOR VILLAGES, ALLOWING CHILDREN AND WOMEN TO STUDY AT NIGHT AND PROVIDING A SAFE AND MORE SECURE WATER SUPPLY. WE WORK WITH LOCAL COMMUNITIES TO TEACH HYGIENE AND BASIC SANITATION AND HAVE HELPED SMALL VOCATIONAL PROJECTS.
