THE ADVANCEMENT OF SAILING FOR ALL BY MINIMIMIZING ECONOMIC AND PHYSICAL OBSTACLES TO SAILING.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
CSNO WILL WORK TO RAISE THE NECESSARY FUNDS TO CONSTRUCT AND EQUIPA COMMUNITY SAILING CENTER IN MUNICIPAL YACHT HARBOR, WHICH ISLOCATED IN NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA.
TRAINING PROGRAMS - AGES 10 THROUGH 18. THIS PROGRAM WILL PROVIDESAILING AND SAFE BOATING EDUCATION TO CHILDREN FROM THE ORLEANSPARISH SCHOOL SYSTEMS, PARTICULARLY FROM A PRIMARY TARGETAUDIENCE, WHICH IS TITLE 1 SCHOOLS, WHERE A MINIMUM OF 85 PERCENTOF THE STUDENTS ARE IN FAMILIES THAT LIVE BELOW THE POVERTY LINE.THIS PROGRAM ALSO WILL REACH OUT TO FURNISH SAILING AND SAFEBOATING EDUCATION TO CHILDREN ENGAGED IN RECREATIONAL PROGRAMS RUNBY NORD, THE CITY'S RECENTLY IMPROVED RECREATIONAL DEPARTMENT,PARTICULARLY WITH REGARD TO SUMMER PROGRAMS. THIS PROGRAM WILLPROVIDE SAILING AND SAFE BOATING EDUCATION TO CHILDREN WHO SIGN UPFOR SUCH OR WHO COME TO THE PROGRAM BY VIRTUE OF MEMBERSHIP (OPENTO THE PUBLIC AT LARGE).
ALLOW HANDICAPPED SAILORS TO SAIL, WHO WOULD NOT HAVE THISOPPORTUNITY IN NEW ORLEANS BUT FOR THIS PROGRAM.
