FARMER FOODSHARE RESHAPES THE DISCONNECTED FOOD SYSTEM BY REMOVING BARRIERS TO GROWING AND ACCESSING LOCAL FOOD. WE CREATE MARKETS FOR LOCAL FARMERS AND DELIVER FRESH, HEALTHY FOOD TO PEOPLE AND FAMILIES EXPERIENCING FOOD INSECURITY IN NORTH CAROLINA.

OUR FOOD HUB OFFERS SMALL AND MID-SCALE NORTH CAROLINA FARMERS A MEANS OF SELLING WHAT THEY GROW AND ADVICE ON PRICING, MARKETING, AND SAFE FOOD- HANDLING PRACTICES. OUR GOAL IS TO HELP HARD-WORKING FARM FAMILIES (ESPECIALLY BEGINNING FARMERS, FEMALE FARMERS AND FARMERS OF COLOR) MAKE A DECENT LIVING WHILE PROVIDING NUTRITIOUS, LOCAL FOOD TO SCHOOLS AND UNIVERSITIES, LOCAL AGENCIES AND INSTITUTIONS, AND GROCERY STORES AND OTHER BUSINESSES. IN 2022 WE HELPED 50 NORTH CAROLINA FARMERS CONNECT WITH MORE THAN 40 AREA BUSINESSES AND INSTITUTIONS. WE ALSO FOCUS ON EQUITABLE, LOCAL FOOD ACCESS AND CONTRIBUTED HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF LBS. OF FRESH, NUTRITIOUS, LOCALLY-SOURCED FOOD TO THE EMERGENCY FOOD SYSTEM THROUGH 30+ COMMUNITY PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS. THIS TOOK THE FORM OF NO-COST FOOD BOXES, BULK DONATIONS AND FOOD RECLAMATION.
