PROMOTE MENTAL WELLNESS BY CREATING SPACE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE TO LEARN AND CONNECT THROUGH ART AND MEDIA. WE WORK IN COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES THROUGHOUT THE U.S. AND CANADA, LEVERAGING THE ARTS TO ELIMINATE THE STIGMA AROUND MENTAL ILLNESS.

COLLEGE AND UNIVERSITY WORKSHOPSIN 2021-22 ART WITH IMPACT RAN 126 ARTS-BASED MENTAL HEALTH WORKSHOPS AT COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES AND CANADA, REACHING APPROXIMATELY 3,500 PEOPLE. EACH OF THE FOUR WORKSHOP STREAMS USES DIFFERENT ARTISTIC MODALITIES INCLUDING SHORT FILM, THEATER, AND POETRY TO EXPLORE UNIQUE MENTAL HEALTH JOURNEYS, PROMOTE MENTAL WELLNESS, AND CONNECT PARTICIPANTS WITH CONCRETE RESOURCES FOR SUPPORT. IN POST-WORKSHOP EVALUATIONS FOR THE DIFFERENT PROGRAMS, BETWEEN 80 AND 93% OF PARTICIPANTS REPORTED AN INCREASED LIKELIHOOD TO SEEK SUPPORT FOR THEIR OWN MENTAL HEALTH.
SHORT FILM INITIATIVESTHROUGH OUR ANNUAL PRODUCTION GRANT PROGRAM AND OUR MONTHLY SHORT FILM COMPETITIONS, WE AWARDED 16 FILMMAKERS A TOTAL OF $56,000 IN SUPPORT OF THEIR WORK EXPLORING MENTAL HEALTH FROM A WIDE RANGE OF PERSPECTIVES AND LIVED EXPERIENCES. VOICES WITH IMPACTS THEMES THIS YEAR WERE MENTAL HEALTH STORIES SPECIFIC TO 2) GRIEF AND RESILIENCE, AND 2) SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER. THE WEEK-LONG ONLINE FILM FESTIVAL ATTRACTED APPROXIMATELY 3,000 PARTICIPANTS FROM AROUND THE WORLD.
PUBLIC PROGRAMSCONTINUED CONNECTIONS IS A SERIES OF PUBLIC PROGRAMS DESIGNED TO PROVIDE ONGOING MEANINGFUL CONVERSATIONS ABOUT MENTAL HEALTH THROUGH ART. IN 2021-22, 35 SANCTUARY SPACE EVENTS REACHED APPROXIMATELY 970 PEOPLE ON TOPICS RANGING FROM THE ART OF DRAG MAKEUP TO BREAKING UP WITH TRAUMA. WE ALSO EXPANDED OUR MONTHLY NEWSLETTERS DISTRIBUTION THROUGH ORGANIC GROWTH TO OVER 16,300 SUBSCRIBERS AND OUR INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT TO 7,500 FOLLOWERS.
