THE BROOKLYN BRIDGE PARK CORPORATION, D/B/A BROOKLYN BRIDGE PARK ("BBP"), IS THE ENTITY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PLANNING, CONSTRUCTION, MAINTENANCE AND OPERATION OF BROOKLYN BRIDGE PARK, AN 85-ACRE SUSTAINABLE WATERFRONT PARK STRETCHING 1.3 MILES ALONG BROOKLYN'S EAST RIVER SHORELINE. BBP'S MISSION IS TO CREATE AND MAINTAIN A WORLD CLASS PARK THAT IS A RECREATIONAL, ENVIRONMENTAL AND CULTURAL DESTINATION ENJOYED BY THE RESIDENTS OF, AND VISITORS TO, NEW YORK CITY. BROOKLYN BRIDGE PARK (BBP), IS THE NOT-FOR-PROFIT ENTITY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PLANNING, CONSTRUCTION, MAINTENANCE AND OPERATION OF BROOKLYN BRIDGE PARK, AN 85 ACRE SUSTAINABLE WATERFRONT PAKR STRETCHING 1.3 MILES ALONG BROOKLYN'S EAST RIVER SHORELINE. THROUGHOUT THE YEAR HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF VISITORS COME TO THE PARK TO EXPERIENCE A DIVERSE ARRAY OF ARTS, CULTURAL, AND RECREATIONAL PROGRAMS. ONGOING PROJECTS THROUGH THE YEAR INCLUDE CONSTRUCTION OF THE PIER 2 UPLANDS WHICH WILL ADD 3.4 ACRES OF PARKLAND TO BBP. THE MAIN FEATURE OF THIS SECTION WILL BE A WATER GARDEN CONTAINING PIER REMNANTS AND AN EXCITING WATER PLAY FEATURE. ADJACENT TO THE WATER FEATURE WILL BE A 6,300 SQUARE FOOT LAWN FEATURING A SEATING AREA MADE FROM SALVAGED GRANITE.
