NAPALEARNS IS A CATALYST TO ACCELERATE INNOVATION IN TEACHING AND LEARNING IN ALL NAPA COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS. WE ENVISION A FUTURE WHERE ALL STUDENTS ARE PREPARED FOR SUCCESS IN COLLEGE, CAREER, AND COMMUNITY.

DURING FISCAL YEAR 2020-2021, NAPALEARNS INVESTED IN DEVELOPING TEACHERS WITH FUNDING FOR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS: 1) SUPPORTED THE NAPA VALLEY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT MATH INITIATIVE TO COACH ELEMENTARY TEACHERS DOING INQUIRY-BASED (COMMON CORE) MATH; 2) HELPED NAPA VALLEY UNIFIED TEACHERS TAKE PROJECT-BASED LEARNING TO THE NEXT LEVEL AND FOCUSING ON RIGOR AND RELEVANCE THROUGH WORKSHOPS; 3) PROVIDED HANDS-ON WORKSHOPS FOR TEACHERS ACROSS THE COUNTY TO LEARN NEW DIGITAL TOOLS TO INTEGRATE INTO THEIR CURRICULUM; AND 4) PROVIDED SCHOLARSHIPS ($5,000/TEACHER) TO NAPA COUNTY TEACHERS PURSUING THEIR MASTER'S IN EDUCATION IN INNOVATIVE LEARNING, WITH 150 TEACHERS ENROLLED OR GRADUATED. IN ADDITION TO TEACHER TRAINING, NAPALEARNS INVESTED IN AN AWARD-WINNING MATH + ROBOTICS PROGRAM TO HELP SECONDARY STUDENTS IMPROVE MATH PERFORMANCE WHILE COMPLETING REAL-WORLD TASKS. STUDENTS TYPICALLY WIN TOP AWARDS IN A STATEWIDE COMPETITION SPONSORED BY UC DAVIS.
