POLICYTHE ORGANIZATION WORKS TO ENSURE THAT THE ENVIRONMENT STAYS A TOP PRIORITY IN NEW JERSEY AND TO MAKE OUR STATE A LEADER IN ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION. IT ACCOMPLISHES THIS GOAL BY HOLDING THE STATE GOVERNMENT ACCOUNTABLE FOR FULFILLING ITS COMMITMENTS TO AGGRESSIVELY ADDRESS CLIMATE CHANGE, SAFEGUARD CLEAN DRINKING WATER, AND PRESERVE OPEN SPACES, PARKS, FORREST, FARMS, AND HISTORIC SITE. THE ORGANIZATION WORKS WITH PARTNERS TO ENSURE ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE AND LOW-INCOME COMMUNITY CONCERNS ARE ACCOUNTED FOR AND PRIORITIZED THROUGH PUBLIC EDUCATION AND ACCOUNTABILITY. IT WORKS DIRECTLY WITH TARGETED LEGISLATORS TO BUILD A LARGER COALITION OF ENVIRONMENTAL SUPPORTERS IN THE STATE LEGISLATURE TO PUSH LEGISLATIVE LEADERSHIP FOR BOLD ACTIONS TO PROTECT AND PRESERVE NEW JERSEY FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS. NEW JERSEY LEAGUE OF CONSERVATION VOTERS CONVENES OTHER NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS TO IDENTIFY AND ADVOCATE FOR SPECIFIC POLICY PROPOSALS AND DEVELOP AND DESIGN COMPREHENSIVE PLANS TO ENSURE THESE POLICIES BECOME LAWS IN THE GARDEN STATE.
DELAWARE RIVER WATERSHEDNEW JERSEY LCV IMPROVED WATER QUALITY AND PROTECTED CLEAN DRINKING WATER BY BUILDING A SIGNIFICANT DIGITAL PRESENCE ONLINE AND IN SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS EDUCATING AND MOBILIZING THE PUBLIC TO SUPPORT THE WORK OF NGOS WORKING ON THE GROUND TO SAFEGUARD OUR PRECIOUS NATURAL RESOURCES. ADDITIONALLY, THE ORGANIZATION ALSO ADVANCED RACIAL JUSTICE IN THE WATERSHED BY FACILITATING EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR PEER ENVIRONMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS TO EMBRACE RACIAL JUSTICE IN THEIR WORK TO PROTECT THE WATERSHED.
