SECOND SATURDAYS PROVIDES A MONTHLY SERIES OF CULTURAL VENUES OPEN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC FREE OF CHARGE. THE ORGANIZATION BRINGS BANDS AND PERFORMERS TO PLAY IN THE ALLEYS AND OPEN SPACES IN DOWNTOWN TUCSON, AND ALSO COORDINATES WITH THE MUSEUMS, ART GALLERIES AND SHOPS TO STAY OPEN LATE THE SECOND SATURDAY OF EACH MONTH. VENDORS ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE FAMILY FRIENDLY MERCHANDISE AND SELL ONLY LOCALLY-MADE, HANDCRAFTED ITEMS OR ARTWORK TO ENHANCE THE EVENING'S FOCUS ON TUCSON'S UNIQUE CULTURE AND PROMOTE A SENSE OF COMMUNITY. AVERAGE ATTENDANCE AT THE MONTHLY FESTIVAL IS 10,000 PEOPLE. SECOND SATURDAYS HAS BEEN VOTED THE BEST URBAN EVENT AND IS A CELEBRATION OF THE LOCAL MUSIC AND CULTURE TUCSON OFFERS.
