WE HELP PEOPLE WITH MOVEMENT DISORDERS LIVE BETTER LIVES THROUGH COLLABORATIVE PARTNERSHIPS WITH THOSE WHO OFFER PATIENT-FOCUSED EDUCATION, CONDUCT INNOVATIVE RESEARCH OR PROVIDE UNIQUE CARE SERVICES.

PD SELF (PARKINSON'S SELF-EFFICACY LEARNING FORUM) IS AN INNOVATIVE, INTERACTIVE DISEASE MANAGEMENT CURRICULUM BASED ON THE PSYCHOSOCIAL THEORY OF SELF-EFFICACY. IT HELPS PEOPLE NEWLY DIAGNOSED WITH PARKINSON'S DISEASE AND THEIR CARE PARTNERS MASTER THE MANAGEMENT OF THEIR CHRONIC, PROGRESSIVE DISEASE AND RETAIN THE BEST QUALITY OF LIFE.


HUNTINGTON'S DISEASE CLINIC IS A COMPREHENSIVE CLINIC WHERE PATIENTS CAN BE SEEN BY A GENETIC COUNSELOR, PSYCHOLOGIST, THERAPISTS AND PROVIDERS, ALL WITH EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE HELPING FAMILIES AFFLICTED WITH HD. OUR HD CLINIC HAS RECEIVED THE RECOGNITION AS A HUNTINGTON'S DISEASE CENTER OF EXCELLENCE, CONFERRED ON CLINICS WITH SPECIALIZED STAFF AND MULTIDISCIPLINARY HD CLINICS.


RESEARCH PROJECTS FUNDED BY THE MOVEMENT DISORDERS FOUNDATION GRANT FUNDING PROGRAM MUST HAVE A CLEAR POSSIBILITY OF WORKING AT SCALE AND FOR WHICH GRANT FUNDING HAS BEEN OTHERWISE DIFFICULT TO OBTAIN. MDF LAUNCHED ITS PROGRAM IN 2020 AT THE KNOEBEL INSTITUTE FOR HEALTHY AGING AT THE UNIVERSITY OF DENVER.


MOVEMENT DISORDERS FOUNDATION HOSTED ITS ANNUAL EDUCATION SYMPOSIUM: CONNECTING SCIENCE TO HOPE IN SPRING 2021. THE VIRTUAL EVENT REACHED APPROXIMATELY 750 PEOPLE.
