THE ALLIANCE OF CALIFORNIANS FOR COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT (ACCE) ACTION IS A GRASSROOTS, MEMBER-LED, STATEWIDE COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION WORKING WITH MORE THAN 16,000 MEMBERS IN SIX COUNTIES ACROSS CALIFORNIA, DEDICATED TO RAISING THE VOICES OF EVERYDAY CALIFORNIANS, NEIGHBORHOOD BY NEIGHBORHOOD, TO FIGHT FOR THE POLICIES AND PROGRAMS WE NEED TO IMPROVE OUR COMMUNITIES AND CREATE A BRIGHTER FUTURE.

ELECTORAL ORGANIZING: OUR PHONE BANKERS AND FIELD TEAM MEMBERS CONTACTED 13,600 VOTERS TO INFORM THEM ABOUT THE NEWSOME RECALL ELECTION. OF THOSE, WE IDENTIFIED 11,400 VOTERS WHO COMMITTED TO VOTING NO ON THE RECALL AND IDENTIFIED 3,500 POTENTIAL MEMBER-LEADERS. STATEWIDE POLICY: ACCES PHONEBANK TEAM REACHED OUT TO 11,900 VOTERS ACROSS THE STATE, URGING THEM TO TAKE ACTION TO CANCEL THE RENT AND PROTECT TENANTS. THROUGH OUR EFFORTS, WE GOT 9,100 SUPPORTIVE VOTERS CONNECTED TO THE OFFICE OF THEIR STATE SENATOR OR ASSEMBLYMEMBER TO VOICE THEIR SUPPORT TO PROTECT TENANTS AGAINST EVICTION. LOCAL CO-GOVERNANCE: IN 2020, ACCE ACTION WORKED TO GET COUNCILMEMBER TAMISHA WALKER ELECTED IN ANTIOCH, CA, AND IN 2021 ACCE WORKED WITH HER TO GET A RENT CONTROL, JUST CAUSE EVICTION AND ANTI-HARASSMENT ORDINANCE DRAFTED IN ORDER TO ADDRESS THE HOUSING CRISIS FACING OUR MEMBERS
