ECN PROVIDES QUALITY COACHING FOR GARFIELD AND WESTERN EAGLE COUNTIES EARLY CHILDCARE PROGRAMS. STAFF ASSESS PROGRAM QUALITY THROUGH RELIABLE AND VALID ASSESSMENT TOOLS THAT ASSESS INTERACTIONS, BUSINESS PRACTICES, ENVIRONMENT AND SOCIAL/EMOTIONAL RESILIENCY IN CHILDREN. ECN STAFF COACH TO PROGRAM CURRENT NEEDS AS WELL AS TO FOLLOWING UP ON THE RESULTS OF THESE ASSESSMENT TOOLS TO INCREASE QUALITY. WITH THIS COACHING, OUR SERVICE AREA WAS THE FIRST IN COLORADO TO HAVE LEVEL 5 (THE HIGHEST LEVEL OBTAINABLE) FAMILY CHILDCARE HOMES. STAFF ALSO MAINTAIN A PROGRAM DATABASE THAT IS UPDATED TWICE A YEAR TO SHARE WITH PARENTS WHEN THEY ARE LOOKING FOR A CHILDCARE REFERRALS. WE CONTINUE TO PARTNER WITH EARLY LEARNING VENTURES BY ADMINISTERING AN EARLY HEAD START (EHS) GRANT IN GARFIELD COUNTY.
