Describe the Organization's Mission:
Part 3 - Line 1
TO ENABLE STUDENTS WITH LEARNING DIFFICULTIES IN READING, ORGANIZATION, LANGUAGE PROCESSING AND WRITTEN EXPRESSION TO REACH THEIR MAXIMUM ACADEMIC POTENTIAL.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
DAY SCHOOL: SAGE SCHOOL'S THREE LARGEST SERVICE AREAS ARE THE DAY SCHOOL, TUTORING AFTER SCHOOL, AND TUTORING IN THE SUMMER. THE DAY SCHOOL'S ENROLLMENT FOR THE 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR WAS 62 STUDENTS. THE SCHOOL CONTINUES TO PROVIDE AN EXCELLENT EDUCATION TO STUDENTS WITH LANGUAGE BASED DIFFERENCES - MAINLY DYSLEXIA. STUDENTS WILL TYPICALLY ATTEND THE SCHOOL FOR A 2 TO 4 YEAR REMEDIATION PERIOD, OR LONGER IF NEEDED, AND THEN OUTPLACE TO THEIR OTHER PUBLIC OR PRIVATE EDUCATIONAL SETTINGS. THE STUDENTS LEARN WHAT THEY ARE DIAGNOSED WITH, HOW TO COMPENSATE FOR THEIR DIFFERENCES, AND MOVE FORWARD WITH CONFIDENCE AND THE ABILITY TO ENJOY ANY SETTING.
TUTORING: THE AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING PROGRAM OFFERS TUTORING TO STUDENTS WHO DO NOT ATTEND THE DAY SCHOOL. THIS IS A BETTER CHOICE FOR SOME STUDENTS WHO MAY NOT BE ABLE TO AFFORD THE COST OF THE FULL SCHOOL, OR DO NOT NEED THE INTENSITY OF THE FULL SCHOOL. THE SUMMER TUTORING PROGRAM IS OFFERED TO HELP THOSE STUDENTS THAT NEED TO RETAIN THE SKILLS TAUGHT DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR, AND TO KEEP THEIR SKILLS CURRENT FOR THEIR GRADE LEVEL. WE ANTICIPATE THE GROWTH OF OUR TUTORING TO CONTINUE TO RISE AS THE COMMUNITY GAINS MORE AWARENESS OF OUR SERVICES AND HOW THEY CAN HELP THEIR STUDENT. THE SUMMER TUTORING PROGRAM ALSO GIVES THE STAFF A HEAD START ON UNDERSTANDING THE CHILD.
