FOR 2021, THE MAJORITY OF OUR OPERATING FUNDS CAME FROM THE GRANT EFFORTS OF THE RTC. IN NOVEMBER, VOLTRAN RECEIVED $38,000 FROM THE RTC/RRRC AS PART OF AN OVERALL $150,000 PATH FOUNDATION GRANT. IN JUNE, WE RECEIVED $3,105.58 FROM PARTICIPATING IN AN ONLINE NONPROFIT FUNDRAISING CALLED GIVE LOCAL PIEDMONT. ON JULY 22, WE WERE AWARDED A GRANT FOR $30,000 FROM THE LOEB FOUNDATION SPECIFICALLY TO PURCHASE A 2022 SUBARU OUTBACK, WHICH WE DID BUY IN OCTOBER. IN SEPTEMBER, THE PATH FOUNDATION DONATED AN OFFICE SPACE AT 98 ALEXANDRIA PIKE IN WARRENTON FOR VOLTRAN AND AWARDED US A $1,500 GRANT TO PURCHASE FURNITURE AND OTHER ITEMS NEEDED TO SET UP THE OFFICE.
DURING 2021, OUR VOLUNTEER DRIVERS DROVE 44,638 MILES TO TAKE OLDER ADULTS AND THOSE WITH DISABILITIES TO MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS AND FOR OTHER CRITICAL NEEDS, AS WELL AS FOR SOCIAL OCCASIONS TO IMPROVE THEIR QUALITY OF LIFE. THEY DONATED 2,410 HOURS OF THEIR TIME TO ACCOMPLISH THIS. FUNDS RECEIVED THROUGH BOTH GRANTS AND DONATIONS FROM CITIZENS WERE UTILIZED FOR PROGRAM MANAGEMENT, COMMUNITY OUTREACH, VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION, AND TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF VOLUNTEER DRIVERS. IN THE FALL OF 2020, VOLTRAN BECAME A MEMBER OF A NEWLY FORMED REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION COLLABORATIVE (RTC) AND RECEIVED FUNDING FOR FY22. DURING 2021, OUR BOARD CONTINUED TO ENFORCE A COVID MASK MANDATE FOR ALL DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS. VOLTRAN RECRUITED 11 NEW DRIVERS, MAINTAINED OUR SIX BOARD MEMBERS AND ONE ADVISORY BOARD MEMBER, AND INCREASED THE HOURS OF OUR CONTRACT EMPLOYEE BEGINNING IN OCTOBER TO 80 HOURS PER MONTH, DUE TO OUR PROGRAM EXPANSION INTO CULPEPER, MADISON AND ORANGE COUNTIES.
