THE NOH8 CAMPAIGN CONTINUED ITS PROGRAM OF HOLDING PUBLIC OPEN PHOTO SHOOTS. NOH8 CAMPAIGN HELD EVENTS IN MAJOR CITIES AND AT EACH OF THE LOCATIONS, HUNDREDS OF INDIVIDUALS ARRIVE WITH THEIR FRIENDS, FAMILIES, PARTNERS, AND LOVED ONES TO PARTICIPATE IN AN OPEN PHOTO SHOOT. IN A SPIRITED ATMOSPHERE OF CAMARADERIE AND COMMUNITY, VOLUNTEERS HELP READY THE PARTICIPANTS FOR THEIR PHOTOS, WHICH ARE THEN TAKEN BY CELEBRITY PHOTOGRAPHER ADAM BOUSKA. THE PHOTOS OF INDIVIDUALS, ALONE OR IN GROUPS, WITH DUCT TAPE COVERING THE SUBJECT'S MOUTH AND THE TRADEMARKED NOH8 LOGO AFFIXED TO THE SUBJECT'S CHEEK ARE PROCESSED AND POSTED ON THE NOH8 CAMPAIGN WEBSITE.
IN ADDITION TO THE PHOTOGRAPHS, NOH8 CAMPAIGN USES ITS WEBSITE AND SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS WITH TWITTER, FACEBOOK AND INSTAGRAM TO INFORM AND EDUCATE ON ISSUES THAT IMPACT THE COMMUNITY. BY POSTING AND HIGHLIGHTING STORIES THAT RECEIVE LIMITED ATTENTION IN THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA, NOH8 CAMPAIGN EDUCATES AND PROVIDES THE PERSONAL STORIES THAT GIVE FACE TO THE LARGER ISSUES. THE NOH8 CAMPAIGN USED SOCIAL MEDIA TO SPOTLIGHT TOPICS SUCH AS ANTI-BULLYING OF LGBT YOUTH, HOMOPHOBIA, GENDER EQUALITY, AND MARRIAGE EQUALITY.
TO FURTHER RAISE AWARENESS, NOH8 CAMPAIGN PRODUCES PSA'S (PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENTS) WHICH IT POSTS TO ITS WEBSITE.
