IN THE PAST YEAR, SPRINGFIELD CHAMBER CHORUS PRODUCED A TELEVISED CHRISTMAS SPECIAL, FEATURING THE CHAMBER CHORUS, STREET CHOIR, AND CHOIRS FROM LOCAL EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS FOR BROADCAST AROUND SW MISSOURI, AND COMMISSIONED AND PERFORMED A SONG CYCLE MADE UP OF TEXTS PROVIDED BY THE LOCAL HOMELESS COMMUNITY. THE STREET CHOIR HAS WELCOMED OVER 300 TOTAL HOMELESS INDIVIDUALS TO AT LEAST ONE REHEARSAL, PERFORMED EXTENSIVELY THROUGHOUT THE COMMUNITY, BEEN FEATURED IN A DOCUMENTARY, AND PROVIDES DIGNITY, JOY, AND PURPOSE FOR SPRINGFIELD'S HOMELESS COMMUNITY.
