THE SOUTHEAST FIBER ARTS ALLIANCE (SEFAA) SUPPORTS AND PROMOTES THE FIBER ARTS THROUGH EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING, EXHIBITIONS, AND EVENTS. WE ARE A REGIONAL RESOURCE FOR INDIVIDUALS, ORGANIZATIONS, BUSINESSES, AND EDUCATORS AND ARE OPEN TO ANYONE WITH AN INTEREST IN FIBER ART. WE CONNECT THE FIBER ARTS COMMUNITY AND CELEBRATE AND PERPETUATE ALL FIBER ART FORMS, ENCOURAGING AND CELEBRATING CREATIVITY ONE THREAD AT A TIME.

EDUCATION INCLUDES (1) MONTHLY PROGRAM MEETINGS ON A WIDE VARIETY OF TEXTILE TOPICS FROM A VIRTUAL TOUR OF CHAD ALICE HAGEN'S STUDIO TO CLAUDIA LEE'S PASSIONATE FOR PAPER: MY PERSONAL PRACTICE, (2) TWO- TO FOUR-HOUR CLASSES, INCLUDING WINTER GODDESS DOLLS, BEGINNING BATIK, INCREDIBLE ICE DYE, PAINTING WITH WOOL: FELTED LANDSCAPES, DENIM FEATHERS, MINI WEAVING, AND DOCENT TOUR OF THE ROBERT WUN: BETWEEN REALITY AND FANTASY EXHIBITION AND (3) ONE- TO THREE-DAY WORKSHOPS, INCLUDING AT PLAY IN THE GARDEN OF STITCH, FELTED VESSELS, SILK DYE PAINTING, MAKE AND USE ORIGINAL DECORATIVE PAPERS, TRUE BLUE. EVENTS INCLUDE FREE BI-WEEKLY OPEN-STUDIO SESSIONS (LUNCHTIME FIBER), MONTHLY BOOK CLUB MEETINGS, MONTHLY STITCHING TIME GATHERINGS, OUR ANNUAL FIBER FLEA MARKET AND SPRUCE-UP PARTY, OUR SOUNDS RIGHT REVERBERATION ELIMINATION PROJECT TO CREATE SOUND-DAMPENING BANNERS FOR OUR MULTI-PURPOSE SPACE, A HOLIDAY TEA, NATALIE CHANIN'S AUTHOR'S TALK, AND OUR BLANKET LOVE AND HOMEGROWN DYE GARDEN PROJECTS.
SEFAA CENTER RENTALS INCLUDE MULTI-PURPOSE SPACE RENTALS, WET STUDIO RENTALS, AND STUDIO RENTALS. INDIVIDUALS AND ORGANIZATIONS RENT THE LARGE MULTI-PURPOSE SPACE AT LOW RATES FOR TEXTILE-RELATED MEETINGS, CLASSES, AND WORKSHOPS AND THEY RENT OUR UNIQUE, PUBLIC WET STUDIO FOR DYEING, FELTING, SURFACE DESIGN, AND OTHER WET TEXTILE PROCESSES. OUR ARTIST'S STUDIOS ARE LEASED ON AN ANNUAL BASIS AND INCLUDE PRIVATE ENTRANCES, SINKS, INTERNET AND UTILITIES, AND ROUND-THE-CLOCK ACCESS. IN 2022, ONE OF THE ARTIST STUDIOS WAS CONVERTED INTO A RETAIL SHOP AFTER OUR LONG-TIME TENANT RELOCATED AT THE END OF JUNE.
