PROVIDED A HABILITATIVE DAY PROGRAM ENVIRONMENT IN PERSON AND VIA TELEHEALTH FOR APPROXIMATELY 48 INDIVIDUALS LIVING WITH INTELLECTUAL AND DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES TO WORK ON SET GOALS FOR THE ACCOMPLISHMENT OF INDEPENDENCE. THESE SET GOALS INCLUDED BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THEIR SOCIAL, PHYSICAL, AND INTRAPERSONAL WELL BEING. IN THIS ENVIRONMENT, VISUAL, PERFORMANCE, MULTI-DIMENSIONAL, AND LINGUISTICAL ARTS CLASSES ARE HELD 5 DAYS A WEEK, 6 HOURS A DAY, APPROXIMATELY 248 DAYS OF THE YEAR. OPEN HEARTS IS THE ONLY PROGRAM IN THE COMMUNITY THAT PROVIDES COLLEGE LEVEL ARTS CLASSES AT A PACE DESIGNED FOR THIS POPULATION.
PROVIDED THE SUPPLIES, GUIDANCE, AND MARKETING OF ARTS AND HELD LIVE EVENTS AND 13 OPPORTUNITIES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR TO SELL THEIR WORK TO THE PUBLIC. OPEN HEARTS ART CENTER ARTISTS SOLD $13,647.61 IN ARTWORK.
THE BOUNDLESS ART PROJECT IS AN INITIATIVE PROJECT OF OPEN HEARTS TO INTEGRATE OUR CLIENTS DEEPER WITH ITS LOCAL ARTS COMMUNITY. THIS PROJECT MADE IT POSSIBLE FOR CLIENT ARTISTS TO TAKE ART RELATED, EDUCATIONAL, AND LOCAL TRIPS . THIS IS ALSO THE TIME WHERE CLIENT ARTISTS HELPED TO MAINTAIN THEIR BOOTHS AT VARIOUS VENDING LOCATIONS, MAKE CONTACTS IN THEIR ART COMMUNITIES AND PRACTICE THE NECESSARY SOCIAL AND BUSINESS SKILLS NEEDED TO TURN THEIR ART INTO A MEANINGFUL LIVING. THIS WAS PUT ON HOLD FOR MOST OF 2021 DUE TO SOCIAL DISTANCING REQUIREMENTS.
