PROVIDED VETERINARY CARE TO OVER 7,000 PETS WHO WOULD OTHERWISE SUFFER WITHOUT IT IN NORTHERN NEVADA THROUGH OPTIONS VETERINARY CARE. SEVENTY PERCENT OF PEOPLE SERVED ARE LOW-INCOME SENIOR CITIZENS. PETS ARE VALUSED COMPANIONS TO SENIORS AND CHILDREN AND THESE SERVICES KEEP PETS WITH THE PEOPLE WHO LOVE THEM AND HELP PREVENT SURRENDERS TO ANIMAL SHELTERS. SERVICES INCLUDE EXAMS, VACCINATIONS, DIAGNOSIS OF ILLNESS/INJURY, TREATMENT INCLUDING SURGERY OR DENTAL CARE IF NEEDED, AND SPAY/NEUTER. PARTNERS INCLUDE EIGHT LOCAL HUMAN SERVICES AGENCIES AND 21 OTHER ANIMAL WELFARE AGENCIES.
PROVIDED TRAINING, EDUCATION, MENTORING AND PRACTICAL ASSISTANCE TO SUPPORT LIFESAVING PROGRAMS FOR ANIMALS AND IMPROVE LIVE-RELEASE RATES FOR ANIMAL SHELTERS ACROSS THE COUNTRY. THIS INCLUDES EXTENSIVE FREE ONLINE RESOURCES, LOW-COST CONSUTING SUPPORT, AND AN ANIMAL SHELTER MANAGEMENT CERTIFICATE PROGRAM FOR LEADERS AND MANAGERS OF ANIMAL SHELTERS AND RESCUE GROUPS.
PROVIDED TRAINING IN ANIMAL BEHAVIOR AND SAFE/HUMANE ANIMAL HANDLING TO ANIMAL SHELTER STAFF AND MANAGEMENT ACROSS THE COUNTRY THROUGH THE ALIVE AND THRIVING PROGRAM.
