MEMBERSHIP DRIVE AND MEETING HELD TO PROMOTE DIVERSITY IN THE LEGAL PROFESSION. THERE WERE 270 ATTENDEES AT THE ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING IN 2023.
THE LCLD 1L SCHOLARS PROGRAM WAS CREATED TO STRENGTHEN THE LEGAL PIPELINE BY EXPANDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR FIRST-YEAR LAW STUDENTS FROM DIVERSE BACKGROUNDS TO SPEND THE SUMMER WORKING SIDE-BY-SIDE WITH ATTORNEYS AT LCLD MEMBER ORGANIZATIONS. IN 2023, THERE WERE 881 1L SCHOLARS. IN 2023, 482 HIGH-POTENTIAL,EARLY CAREER ATTORNEYS FROM LCLD MEMBER ORGANIZATIONS PARTICIPATED IN THE LCLD PATHFINDER PROGRAM. THE PATHFINDER PROGRAM PROVIDES PARTICIPANTS A SEVEN-MONTH PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FOCUSED ON FOUNDATIONAL LEADERSHIP AND RELATIONSHIP-BUILDING. THE PROGRAM GIVES PARTICIPANTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN FROM TOP LEADERS IN THE LEGAL PROFESSION, AS WELL AS EXPERTS IN THE FIELDS OF LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT.
THE LCLD LAW SCHOOL MENTORING PROGRAM IS A COMPREHENSIVE INITIATIVE FOR FIRST-YEAR LAW STUDENTS FROM DIVERSE BACKGROUNDS TO BE PAIRED WITH VOLUNTEER ATTORNEYS FROM LCLD MEMBER ORGANIZATIONS. IN 2023-24, 1,357 MENTOR/MENTEE MATCHES WERE MADE.
FOUNDED IN 2011, THE FELLOWS PROGRAM CONNECTS HIGH-POTENTIAL ATTORNEYS FROM DIVERSE BACKGROUND FOR A YEAR-LONG PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FOCUSED ON LEADERSHIP AND RELATIONSHIP BUILDING. THE FELLOWS PROGRAM PROVIDES PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES, LEADERSHIP TRAINING, RELATIONSHIP-BUILDING RESOURCES, AND ACCESS TO LCLD MEMBERS (MANAGING PARTNERS AND GENERAL COUNSEL).
