Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

CHAPLAINCY SERVICES AT THE CORRECTIONAL FACILITY OFFERING A HOLISTIC RANGE OF PROGRAMS AND SERVICES THAT ADDRESS THE SPIRITUAL, RELIGIOUS AND PASTORAL NEEDS OF INCARCERATED WOMEN, INCLUDING TRAUMA-INFORMED LIFE SKILLS TRAINING THAT ADDRESSES ISSUES SUCH AS DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, ADDICTION AND RECOVERY, AND GRIEF SUPPORT. IN 2021, IPMW'S CHAPLAIN SERVED 325 WOMEN ON 3,750 OCCASSIONS WHILE THEY WERE STILL INCARCERATED IN THE MINIMUM-SECURITY CANARY UNIT. THIS INCLUDED 1,075 1:1 PASTORAL CARE SESSIONS; 239 WOMEN WHO COMPLETED SELF-STUDY COURSES; AND 32 WOMEN RE- COMMITTING TO SOBRIETY THROUGH A PEER-LED RECOVERY SUPPORT PROGRAM. THE PRISON IN WHICH IPMW PRIMARILY WORKS REMAINED CLOSED FOR GROUP PROGRAMS AND OUTSIDE VOLUNTEERS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.

REENTRY PROGRAMS THAT OFFER HOUSING, CASE MANAGEMENT, RESOURCE AND REFERRAL SUPPORT, MENTORING, PRACTICAL SUPPORT, HEALTH ADVOCACY, EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE, AND/OR OTHER SERVICES FOR APPROXIMATELY 76 WOMEN RELEASED FROM PRISON WHO WERE ENTERING THE JOB FORCE AND REUNITING WITH THEIR FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES.

IN 2021, THE COVID PANDEMIC SEVERELY CURTAILED IPMW'S OUTREACH AND ENGAGEMENT ACTIVITIES, AS THE USUAL MENTORING AND VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES WERE NOT AVAILABLE. IPMW CONDUCTED FIVE OUTREACH PRESENTATIONS TO RAISE AWARENESS AND ENGAGEMENT WITH THIS WORK. IPMW RELEASED THE LONG-AWAITED "CONVICTION: SONGS OF FAITH FROM WOMEN IN PRISON" CD, FEATURING SONGS WRITTEN IN A SONGWRITING CLASS OFFERED BY IPMW WHILE THEY WERE STILL INCARCERATED.

IN CONJUNCTION WITH A CURRICULUM DEVELOPER AND A PSYCHOLOGIST/RESEARCHER FROM VETERANS AFFAIRS (VA), IPMW BEGAN DEVELOPING A CURRICULUM FOR SERVICE PROVIDERS BASED ON THE MORAL INJURY FRAMEWORK. THIS MODEL WAS FIRST DEVELOPED WITHIN THE VA SYSTEM FOR COMBAT VETERANS. OUR TRAINING EXTENDS THE MODEL AND APPLIES IT IN A CARCERAL CONTEXT.
