THE ABG ANESTHESIA SAFETY RESEARCH INSTITUTE HAS CONTINUED TO COLLECT AND ANALYZE ANESTHESIA SAFETY AND EVALUATION INFORMATION IN THE PATIENT SAFETY DATA REGISTRY HOUSED WITH MAINE MEDICAL CENTER. PRELIMINARY ANALYSIS/VALIDATION OF THE DATA CAPTURE TOOLS HAVE LEAD TO A MANUSCRIPT SUBMITTED FOR PUBLICATION. THE REGISTRY HAS GROWN FROM 1.4 MILLION CASES IN 2010 TO OVER 4.0 MILLION CASES IN 2014. THE MANUSCRIPT DESCRIBING THE RISK ANALYSIS METHODOLOGY FOR DEATH AND CARDIAC ARREST IN THE OPERATING ROOM IS BEING PREPARED FOR SUBMISSION AND THE VALIDATION PILOT FOR QUALITY OUTCOMES AND PATIENT DEMOGRAPHICS WILL BE COMPLETED IN THE SUMMER OF 2014.
