MUSANA COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION EXISTS SOLELY TO SUPPORT PROGRAMS AND CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT OF THE MUSANA NGO IN UGANDA, WHICH IS WORKING TOWARDS SELF-SUSTAINABILITY. MCDO PROVIDES BOTH FINANCIAL SUPPORT AND EXPERTISE IN AREAS SUCH AS CONSTRUCTION, CRAFT SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND FINANCIAL REPORTING.

MUSANA FOCUSES ON CREATING SOCIAL ENTERPRISES IN THE AREAS OF EDUCATION, HEALTH, AND SKILL DEVELOPMENT. IN 2023, MUSANA EMPLOYED 577 UGANDANS WITH FULL-TIME WORK, EDUCATED 4,639 YOUTH WITH 1,849 STUDENTS ON SCHOLARSHIP, AND HAD 36,408 PATIENT VISITS AT MUSANA COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTERS. MUSANA ALSO OPERATES OTHER INCOME GENERATING ACTIVITIES LIKE GUESTHOUSES, A RESTAURANT, AND MERCHANDISE PRODUCTION. IN 2023 NGO PROGRAMS WERE 95% SELF-SUSTAINING.
MCDO IS CURRENTLY CONCENTRATING ON REPLICATING INTO TWO LOCATIONS; KALIRO AND KAMULI DISTRICT. IN 2023, THE FOLLOWING WORK WAS DONE IN KALIRO: CONSTRUCTION AND FURNISHING THE VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL, CONSTRUCTION AND FURNISHING A GUESTHOUSE, AND MINOR EXPANSION PROJECTS AT THE PRIMARY SCHOOL. IN KAMULI, THE FOLLOWING WORK WAS DONE: CONSTRUCTION OF A NURSERY SCHOOL BUILDING AND DORMITORY AT THE NURSERY AND PRIMARY SCHOOL, CONSTRUCTION AND FURNISHING OF A HOSPITAL, AND PURCHASE OF LAND FOR A HOTEL.
