FARM PARK - AN EDUCATIONAL FACILITY, OPERATED AS A PUBLIC SPACE OPEN TO ALL, DEMONSTRATING NEIGHBORHOOD AND COMMUNITY SCALE SUSTAINABLE FOOD,GARDEN, AND LIVESTOCK SYSTEMS MANAGED IN AN INTEGRATED WAY. MORE THAN DOUBLED PRODUCTION IN 2020 AT THE HEADQUARTERS FARM WITH 9,753 POUNDS PRODUCED. CANNED 1,800 JARS OF GOODS; PRODUCED 1,284 DOZEN EGGS AND RAISED 57 SHEEP.
PRODUCE A HIGH QUALITY MAGAZINE THAT HIGHLIGHTS LOCAL FARMERS, THEIR PRODUCE; EDUCATES READERS ON LOCAL FOOD, AND WHERE TO GET IT. SERVICE AS A RESOURCE FOR LOCALLY GROWN FOOD; AND, LOCAL INFORMATION RELATED TO FOOD.
SUMMER CAMP PROGRAMS - RESEARCH DEMONSTRATES THAT GROWING FOOD IS ONE OF THE MOST POWERFUL WAYS TO RECONNECT CHILDREN TO NATURE AND TO GET PEOPLE OUTSIDE. IN 2020, THE SUMMER CAMP PROGRAMS PROVIDED SOCIALLY DISTANCED LEARNING FOR YOUTHS.IN 2021, DUE TO COVID, WE WERE UNABLE TO RUN SEVERAL OF OUR REGULAR PROGRAMS IN SUMMER AND FALL 2021; AND, WHEN OPERATING PROGRAMS WERE AT LIMITED CAPACITY. 2021 ENROLLMENT WAS LIMITED TO 25 CHILDREN PER WEEK; 269 CHILDREN PARTICIPATED FOR SIX HOURS EACH DAY, FIVE DAYS PER WEEK FOR 11 WEEKS.
DURING 2020 & 2021 THE ANNUAL COMMUNITY MEAL WAS CHANGED TO A FOOD SHARE EVENT PROVIDING FOOD TO MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY FOR FREE WHILE SUPPORTING LOCAL FARMERS BY PURCHASING PRODUCE TO BE GIVEN AWAY AT THE EVENT.
