FRASSATI CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL IS A COLLEGE PREPARATORY HIGH SCHOOL LOCATED IN THE NORTHERN REGION OF THE ARCHDIOCESE OF GALVESTON-HOUSTON. THE CATHOLIC SEGMENT OF THIS POPULATION CURRENTLY SUPPORTS 12 PARISHES AND 8 CATHOLIC ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS. OVER THE PAST 162 YEARS, THE DOMINICAN SISTERS OF ST. CECILIA CONGREGATION HAVE GIVEN THE FRUITS OF THEIR CONTEMPLATION IN THE APOSTOLATE OF CATHOLIC EDUCATION. IN ADDITION TO FRASSATI CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL, THE CONGREGATION IS PRESENT IN 42 SCHOOLS ACROSS 22 DIOCESES, TEACHING CHILDREN AND YOUNG ADULTS, PRE-SCHOOL THROUGH COLLEGE LEVEL, IN BOTH SUBURBAN AND INNER-CITY SCHOOLS, PRIVATE AND DIOCESAN, DOMESTIC ANDINTERNATIONAL. FISCAL YEAR 2023 ENROLLMENT IS 316 STUDENTS. FRASSATI CATHOLIC IS PROUD OF THE DIVERSITY OF ITS (CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O) STUDENTS, BOTH SOCIOECONOMICALLY AND CULTURALLY. APPROXIMATELY 25 PERCENT OF THE STUDENT BODY RECEIVES NEED-BASED TUITION ASSISTANCE. U.S. ETHNIC MINORITIES COMPRISE 45 PERCENT OF THE SCHOOL POPULATION, INCLUDING 3 PERCENT BLACK/AFRICAN AMERICAN, 30 PERCENT HISPANIC, AND 7 PERCENT ASIAN-AMERICAN. SIXTY-ONE PERCENT OF FACULTY HAVE EARNED AN ADVANCED DEGREE. ELEVEN PERCENT OF FACULTY HAVE EARNED A DOCTORAL DEGREE. STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO CARRY A MINIMUM OF 7 COURSES WITHIN AN 8 COURSE SCHEDULE. BLOCK SCHEDULING IS USED. AVERAGE CLASS SIZE IS 22; STUDENT-TO-TEACHER RATIO IS 11:1. ALL ACADEMIC CLASSES ARE CONSIDERED RIGOROUS COLLEGE-PREPARATORY COURSES. FRASSATI CATHOLIC ALSO OFFERS ADVANCED PLACEMENT AND HONORS CLASSES, AS WELL AS CLASSES THROUGH APPROVED ONLINE PROGRAMS. ACCEPTANCE IS BASED ON A COMBINATION OF PREVIOUS SCHOOL PERFORMANCE, ENTRANCE EXAMINATION SCORES, INTERVIEW, AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS AND QUALITIES OF THE APPLICANT.
