BOSQUE SCHOOL IS A COEDUCATIONAL COLLEGE PREPARATORY SCHOOL, ACCREDITED BY THE INDEPENDENT SCHOOL ASSOCIATION OF THE SOUTHWEST, TEACHING IN ACCORDANCE WITH STATE LAW AND THE GUIDELINES OF THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS. BOSQUE SCHOOL MANIFESTS ITS MISSION WITH CORE VALUES OF INSPIRING ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE, CULTIVATING COMMUNITY, FOSTERING INTEGRITY AND LEARNING FROM PLACE. THE SCHOOL IS A STUDENT-CENTERED COMMUNITY THAT OFFERS A DEDICATED AND CARING FACULTY, SMALL CLASSES AND AN EDUCATION THAT RECOGNIZES EACH STUDENT AS AN INDIVIDUAL. BOSQUE SCHOOL ENROLLED 432 STUDENTS FOR THE 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR, WITH 56% OF THOSE STUDENTS RECEIVING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE.
THE SOFIA CENTER FOR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT ENGAGES EDUCATORS IN REFLECTION, DIALOGUE, AND ACTION FOCUSED ON ESSENTIAL QUESTIONS ABOUT TEACHING AND LEARNING. THE CENTER NURTURES AND RESTORES EDUCATORS SENSE OF CALLING AND PURPOSE, AND EMPOWERS EDUCATORS TO BE CREATORS OF INNOVATIVE CHANGE IN THEIR SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITIES. THE SOFIA CENTER HAS WELCOMED AND COLLABORATED WITH EDUCATORS FROM OVER 270 SCHOOLS AND ORGANIZATIONS, WITH OVER 500 PARTICIPANTS EACH YEAR IN PUBLIC PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT EVENTS.
THE ALBERT J. AND MARY JANE BLACK INSTITUTE FOR ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES AT BOSQUE SCHOOL IS A CENTER FOR BOSQUE EDUCATION AND RESEARCH. IT EXISTS TO BUILD CONNECTIONS BETWEEN STUDENTS, COMMUNITY, AND THE RIO GRANDE WATERSHED THROUGH RESEARCH, EDUCATION, AND ACTION. THE BLACK INSTITUTE SERVES TO EDUCATE THE WIDER COMMUNITY ABOUT RIVER ECOSYSTEMS AND THE WATERSHEDS THEY DEPEND UPON. THE BOSQUE ECOSYSTEM MONITORING PROGRAM (BEMP), WHICH OPERATED UNDER THE BLACK INSTITUTE, MOVED ITS OPERATIONS TO A SEPARATE CORPORATE ENTITY EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2020. BEMP HAS RECEIVED APPROVAL AS A 501(C)(3) SUPPORTING ORGANIZATION CONTROLLED BY BOSQUE SCHOOL.
