IN ADDITION TO THE RESTORATION AND PRESERVATION OF STRUCTURES AND ARTIFACTS THROUGHOUT THE HISTORIC CARMEL MISSION PROPERTY, THE CARMEL MISSION FOUNDATION STRIVES TO PRESERVE THE MISSION'S 250+ YEAR HISTORY BY RESEARCHING AND SHARING THE MISSION'S STORY AS IT ENDURED NOT ONLY DURING THE MISSION-ERA, BUT THROUGH THE FORMATION OF OUR 31ST STATE, AND AS THE MONTEREY PENINSULA DEVELOPED AROUND IT. THE FOUNDATION OFFERS EDUCATIONAL AND HISTORICAL PRESENTATIONS AND SPEAKER ENGAGEMENTS, PROVIDE LEADERSHIP AND RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES FOR LOCAL YOUTH, AND PRESENT ART AND CULTURAL EXHIBITS THAT TIE INTO THE MISSION'S PAST AND HIGHLIGHT CARMEL MISSION'S TRANSFORMATION THROUGH SKETCHES AND PHOTOGRAPHS DATING BACK TO 1789.
