THE MASON SCHOOLS FOUNDATION IS FOUNDED ON THE CONCEPT OF HELPING THE SCHOOL DISTRICT TAKE STUDENTS ABOVE AND BEYOND IN ACADEMICS, ARTS AND ATHLETICS. SINCE ITS INCEPTION, THE MASON SCHOOLS FOUNDATION HAS FUNDED GRANTS AND INNOVATIVE PROGRAMS TO HELP CREATE EXTRAORDINARY LEARNING EXPERIENCES IN OUR SCHOOLS. THE FOUNDATION PLAYS AN INTEGRAL ROLE IN HELPING THE DISTRICT THROUGH TIMES OF CHANGE IN EDUCATION BY FUNDING GRANTS THAT ENABLE INNOVATION, TEACHER DEVELOPMENT AND PROGRAMS SUCH AS THE MHS FOREIGN LANGUAGE LAB, THE MMS CODING AND ROBOTICS COURSE, STEAM LABS, AUTHOR VISITS, OUTDOOR CLASSROOMS AND INCLUSIVE EXCELLENCE INITIATIVES INCLUDING BOOKS WITH WITH WINDOWS AND MIRRORS. THE FOUNDATION ENSURES THAT NO MASON STUDENT STARTS THE SCHOOL YEAR WITHOUT THE SCHOOL SUPPLIES NEEDED TO SUCCEED AND HAS HELPED MORE THAN 2100 FINANCIALLY AT-RISK STUDENTS.

THE MASON SCHOOLS FOUNDATION FUNDS ANNUAL GRANTS ACROSS ALL SCHOOLS STARTING WITH BACK-TO-SCHOOL SUPPLIES FOR ALL STUDENTS IN FINANCIAL NEED. THIS YEAR, GRANTS INCLUDED MECCS PLAYGROUND WELLNESS PATH, AN ELEMENTARY SUMMER READING PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS WHO ARE ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED, OUTDOOR LEARNING SPACES AT MI AND WMHS, AN INFANT SIMULATION EXPERIENCE FOR HIGH SCHOOL DEVELOPMENTAL PSYCHOLOGY STUDENTS, CONNECTION KITS FOR HIGH SCHOOL EDUCATORS DESIGNED TO FOSTER GREATER STUDENT-TEACHER RELATIONSHIPS FOR POSITIVE MENTAL HEALTH, HISTORY ARTIFACT BOXES AT ME, THE LAUNCH OF THE MMS ADAPTIVE CHEER TEAM, THE SAFE-RIDER SCHOOL BUS PROGRAM AND WINDOW AND MIRRORS COMMUNITY EVENTS.


SCHOOL PARTNERSHIP GRANTS ARE PROGRAMS MSF SUPPORTS ACROSS THE DISTRICT IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE SCHOOL BUILDINGS IN GRADES K-8 THAT HOST STRONG FUNDRAISING PROGRAMS WITH THE MASON SCHOOLS FOUNDATION. GRANT-FUNDED PROGRAMS THIS YEAR INCLUDE SUPPORT FOR MENTAL HEALTH WITH PEACE CORNERS IN CLASSROOMS AT MECC, MUSIC THERAPY FOR STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS AT MI, A NEW SOUND SYSTEM FOR MI TO BETTER COMMUNICATE AND USE THEIR REMODELED SPACE, SUPPORT FOR THE MMS DIFFERENCE MAKERS PROGRAM, VISITS FROM THE CRITTER GUY AT ME AND SPIRIT WEAR SUPPORT FOR STUDENTS WHO ARE ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED.
