COONAMESSETT FARM FOUNDATION IS DEDICATED TO THE RESPONSIBLE STEWARDSHIP AND MAINTENANCE OF THE BIODIVERSITY OF OUR PLANET. OUR PURPOSE IS THE DEVELOPMENT AND TRANSFER OF APPROPRIATE TECHNOLOGY IN SUPPORT OF FARMING AND FISHING COMMUNITIES THAT ARE ENVIRONMENTALLY SOUND, SOCIALLY EQUITABLE, ECONOMICALLY FEASIBLE, AND COMPATIBLE WITH A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE.

THE ORGANIZATION PARTICIPATES IN THE RESEARCH SET-ASIDE (RSA) PROGRAM. RSA PROGRAMS PROVIDE A MECHANISM TO FUND RESEARCH AND COMPENSATE VESSEL OWNERS PARTICIPATING IN RESEARCH THROUGH THE SALE OF FISH HARVESTED UNDER A RESEARCH QUOTA THAT HAS BEEN SET ASIDE FROM THE OVERALL CATCH. THE RSA'S PROGRAM'S AIM IS TO FURTHER THE UNDERSTANDING OF OUR NATION'S FISHERIES, ENHANCE INFORMATION FOR MANAGEMENT OF FISHERIES ,AND TO FOSTER COLLABORATIONS BETWEEN MARINE FISHERIES INTERESTS.
