Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
ENERGY VISION WAS FOUNDED IN 2007 WITH A MISSION OF ADVANCING THE TRANSITION TO A SUSTAINABLE ENERGY FUTURE - AWAY FROM FOSSIL FUELS AND TOWARD A GLOBAL ECONOMY POWERED BY CLEAN, RENEWABLE, CARBON NEUTRAL ENERGY RESOURCES. SUCH A TRANSITION IS CLEARLY ESSENTIAL FOR REDUCING THE GLOBAL THREAT OF CLIMATE CHANGE AS WELL AS FOR IMPROVING THE HEALTH OF MILLIONS OF AMERICANS SUFFERING FROM POLLUTING AND CANCER-CAUSING VEHICLE EMISSIONS. OUR GOAL, SINCE DAY ONE, HAS BEEN TO PRODUCE COMPELLING, OBJECTIVE, SOLUTION-ORIENTED RESEARCH, (CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O)TO EDUCATE AMERICANS ABOUT THE BEST OPTIONS FOR CHANGE, AND TO PROMOTE THE ADOPTION OF THESE SOLUTIONS. OVER THE PAST 17 YEARS, THE NEED TO AFFECT THIS TRANSITION HAS BECOME EVER MORE URGENT. THE US POPULATION HAS GROWN FROM 285 TO OVER 340 MILLION PEOPLE AND THE WORLD POPULATION FROM 6 TO 8 BILLION. THE EVIDENCE OF A WARMING CLIMATE HAS BECOME EVER CLEARER WITH THE REGULARITY OF WILDFIRES, FLOODS, DROUGHTS, AND MELTING GLACIERS. OVER THIS PERIOD, ENERGY VISION'S RESEARCH ON WAYS TO WEAN THE TRANSPORTATION SECTOR FROM ITS ADDICTION TO PETROLEUM-BASED FUELS HAS BECOME A WIDELY RESPECTED RESOURCE FOR PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SECTOR LEADERS. OUR WORK HAS ALSO LED TO THE LAUNCHING OF A NEW CLEAN FUEL INDUSTRY IN THIS COUNTRY - CONVERTING THE METHANE BIOGASES EMITTED BY DECOMPOSING ORGANIC WASTES INTO CLEAN "RENEWABLE NATURAL GAS" (RNG) FUEL. BUT OUR INDUSTRIAL ECONOMY MUST MOVE AHEAD MORE RAPIDLY. AND ENERGY VISION, WITH ITS EXPANDING AGENDA - LOOKING AT HYDROGEN AND OTHER LOW-CARBON MOLECULES NECESSARY FOR THE ENERGY TRANSITION - IS COMMITTED TO SHEDDING MORE LIGHT ON THE PATH FORWARD. THE TIME IS NOW TO LEVERAGE OUR EXPERTISE AND NETWORK TO ENSURE WE HAVE THE BEST CHANCE POSSIBLE - AS A SOCIETY - TO ACHIEVE OUR CLIMATE AND CLEAN AIR GOALS.
