TO PRESERVE AND MAINTAIN THE MOOREFIELDS 1785 HISTORIC HOUSE AND GROUNDS, AND EXPLORE THE HISTORY OF THE PEOPLE WHO LIVED AND WORKED THERE, TO CELEBRATE THE ARTS, AND TO PROTECT THE WILDLIFE HABITATS AND NATURAL AREAS THAT ARE PART OF THE SITE.

- IN ADDITION TO ROUTINE REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE OF THE HOUSE AND GROUNDS, ONGOING EFFORTS TO MAINTAIN AND PRESERVE THE HISTORIC HOUSE AT MOOREFIELDS INCLUDED PAINTING OF THE EXTERIOR OF THE 1785 HOUSE, AND RESTORATION OF THE HOUSE'S FRONT PORCH. IN ADDITION TO BEING THE ENTRYWAY TO THE HOUSE, THE PORCH ACTS AS A GATHERING PLACE FOR VISITORS AND A STAGE FOR MUSICAL PERFORMANCES. DUE TO WEATHER DELAYS, BOTH PROJECTS WILL BE COMPLETED IN THE SPRING OF 2023. DURING 2022, GRANT FUNDS OF $8,154 WERE EXPENDED FROM A $13,000 BUDGET FOR EXTERIOR PAINTING, AND $4,484.87 WAS EXPENDED FROM A $15,000 BUDGET FOR THE PORCH RESTORATION. - FREE WILDFLOWER AND BIRDING HIKES WERE HELD IN THE SPRING, LED BY VOLUNTEER KNOWLEDGEABLE PROFESSIONALS, AND ATTENDED BY APPROXIMATELY 60 PEOPLE. - FOUR FREE SUMMER TOUR DAYS OF THE HOUSE AND GROUNDS WERE STAFFED BY VOLUNTEER BOARD MEMBERS, HOSTING APPROXIMATELY 120 PEOPLE. - THE ANNUAL BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL WAS HELD ON THE LAWN FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE 2019, ATTENDED BY MORE THAN 600 PEOPLE. THE FESTIVAL GROSSED $16,765.62, ALTHOUGH $1896 OF THAT WAS NOT ACTUALLY RECEIVED UNTIL JANUARY, 2023. EXPENSES TOTALED $6,812.65.
