OUTREACH AND EDUCATION PROGRAMS - WE CONDUCT A VARIETY OF OUTREACH AND EDUCATION PROGRAMS THAT ARE DESIGNED TO EDUCATE ABOUT THE NEED TO TAKE ACTION TO REDUCE THE SPREAD OF INVASIVE SPECIES. OUR PROGRAMS ADDRESS ALL TYPES OF INVASIVE SPECIES ISSUES INCLUDING FOREST PEST INSECTS, MOVEMENT OF INVASIVE SPECIES BY BOATERS AND ANGLERS, SPECIES INTRODUCED AS A RESULT OF UNWANTED PET RELEASES AND MANY OTHER ISSUES. WE SERVE YOUTH AND ADULT AUDIENCES WITH OUR YOUTH EDUCATION EFFORTS PROVIDING AN INVASIVE SPECIES MESSAGE TO MORE THAN 8,500 STUDENTS IN THE MOST RECENT SCHOOL YEAR.
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES - WE PROVIDE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES TO AGENCIES AND OTHER GROUPS AND ORGANIZATIONS TO ADVANCE THEIR ABILITY TO CONDUCT SUCCESSFUL INVASIVE SPECIES PROGRAMS. THESE SERVICES INCLUDE COORDINATION, FACILITATION, PROFESSIONAL WRITING, MEETING PLANNING AND OTHER SERVICES. EXAMPLES OF SERVICES PROVIDED INCLUDE COORDINATING THE WESTERN REGIONAL PANEL FOR AQUATIC NUISANCE SPECIES, WRITING AQUATIC INVASIVE SPECIES MANAGEMENT PLANS, CONDUCTING RAPID RESPONSE EXERCISES AND CONDUCTING SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCES.
CONDUCT INVASIVE SPECIES PREVENTION ACTIVITIES - WE CONDUCT ASSESSMENTS OF AGENCY OPERATED WATERCRAFT INSPECTION STATIONS TO EVALUATE THE PERFORMANCE OF THE INSPECTION STAFF. WE ARE CURRENTLY CONDUCTING THESE "SECRET SHOPPER" TYPE PROGRAMS IN MONTANA, WYOMING AND LAKE TAHOE. WE HAVE DEVELOPED, PRODUCE AND DISTRIBUTE FISHING BOOT CLEANING STATIONS TO HIGH ANGLER USE AREAS IN THE GREATER YELLOWSTONE AREA. THESE STATIONS ARE PROVIDED FREE TO FLY SHOPS AND OTHER PLACES WHERE NON-RESIDENT ANGLERS ARE ASKED TO CLEAN THEIR BOOTS.
