THE PURPOSE OF THE FOUNDATION IS TO ADVANCE THE PROFESSION OF DENTAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGY BY DEVELOPING EDUCATIONAL CURRICULUM AND PROGRAMS THAT WILL BE RELEVANT AND ACCESSIBLE TO DENTAL TECHNICIANS AND OTHER MEMBERS OF THE DENTAL TEAM.

GRANTS - THE KEYSTONE GRANT PROVIDES FORMAL DENTAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGY SCHOOLS WITH GRANT MONEY TO HELP SUPPORT THEIR PROGRAM'S GOALS. KEYSTONE GRANTS OF $5,000 WERE AWARDED DURING 2021; THE 2021 GRANT COST WAS OFFSET BY FUNDS WRITE-OFFS OF $482 FROM 2019. THE MARK JACKSON MEMORIAL EDUCATION GRANT PROVIDES DENTAL LABORATORY TECHNICIANS WITH FUNDS TO HELP THEM FURTHER THEIR EDUCATIONAL GOALS RELATED TO HIGHER LEVEL DENTAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION. MARK JACKSON MEMORIAL EDUCATION GRANTS TOTALING $5,000 WERE AWARDED DURING 2021; THE 2021 GRANT COST WAS OFFSET BY FUNDS WRITE-OFFS OF $1,310 FROM 2019. THE SCDL BUSINESS ENTERPRISE EDUCATION GRANT WILL AWARD UP TO TWO INDIVIDUALS $2,500 TO SUPPLEMENT EXPENSES RELATED TO BUSINESS MANAGEMENT CONTINUING EDUCATION THE RECIPIENTS WISH TO ATTEND (I.E. NADL UNIVERSITY, CHAMBER COURSES, FINANCE COURSES, ETC.). $5,000 IN SCDL BUSINESS ENTERPRISE EDUCATION GRANTS WERE AWARDED DURING 2021. THE SCDL COMPONENT BUSINESS EDUCATION GRANT WILL AWARD ONE RECIPIENT $2,000 FOR STATE AND REGIONAL DENTAL LABORATORY ASSOCIATIONS TO HELP FUND BUSINESS MANAGEMENT CONTINUING EDUCATION OFFERINGS (I.E. SPEAKER FOR ANNUAL MEETING). A $2,000 SCDL COMPONENT BUSINESS EDUCATION GRANT WAS AWARDED DURING 2021. THE FOUNDATION LAUNCHED THE CDT HARDSHIP GRANT IN 2021, IN ORDER TO ASSIST CDTS EXPERIENCING A HARDSHIP WITH THEIR ANNUAL CDT RENEWAL FEE OF $170. A TOTAL OF 40 CDT HARDSHIP GRANTS WERE AWARDED IN 2021 TOTALING $6,800.
SCHOLARSHIPS - THE CDT PILLAR SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS FUNDS TO HELP DENTAL LABORATORY TECHNICIANS PURSUE THE CERTIFIED DENTAL TECHNICIAN DESIGNATION BY COVERING THE TESTING AND APPLICATION FEES. CDT PILLAR SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED DURING 2021 TOTALED $49,005; THE 2021 GRANT COST WAS OFFSET BY FUNDS WRITE-OFFS OF $14,715 FROM 2018. THE RG PILLAR SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS FUNDS TO HELP DENTAL LABORATORY TECHNICIANS PURSUE THE RECOGNIZED GRADUATE DESIGNATION BY COVERING THE TESTING AND APPLICATION FEES. RG PILLAR SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED DURING 2021 TOTALED $5,355.
