IN 2022, ASWC PROVIDED VIRTUAL AND IN-PERSON PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SESSIONS IN WHICH THE TEACHERS AND COUNSELORS INTERACTED IN SEVERAL WAYS WITH WORKFORCE PROFESSIONALS AND LEARNED ABOUT PROJECT BASED LEARNING.

A TOTAL OF 177 EDUCATORS IN MATH, SCIENCE, CYBERSECURITY, AND CAREER TECHNICAL EDUCATION (CTE) IN MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL SUBMITTED APPLICATIONS TO ATTEND OUR IN-PERSON EXTERNSHIP SESSIONS.OF THOSE, 161 EDUCATORS WORK IN 18 INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICTS AND 16 EDUCATORS WORK IN VARIOUS CHARTER SCHOOLS.97 EDUCATORS COMPLETED THE TEACHER EXTERNSHIP 2022 ACTIVITIES. 92 TEACH IN 16 DIFFERENT INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICTS WHILE FIVE TEACH IN PUBLIC CHARTER SCHOOLS.THE RESULTS SHOWED INCREASES IN KNOWLEDGE OF LOCAL COMPANIES, STEM CAREER, TECHNICAL AND PERSONAL EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS, EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS, AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS.THREE TEACHERS COMPLETED THE EXTERNSHIPS VIRTUALLY.THE PARTICIPATING TEACHERS GAVE THE EXTERNSHIP HIGH QUALITY RATINGS.
